A queen mattress does not bend, does not fold, and does not care that you drive a Civic. Here is every route that works without a truck, ranked by effort.

Route 1: the pickup that brings its own truck

The obvious answer first: a scheduled pickup from $85 sends a Loader with the vehicle, removes the mattress from inside your home, and routes it donation first. Same and next day windows, price guaranteed at checkout. Total truck requirement: zero.

Route 2: charity pickup, if the stars align

Some furniture banks and charities run their own pickup trucks for donations that meet their standards. The catches: the condition bar, service areas, and schedules that book out weeks. Worth a call if the mattress is genuinely donatable and you are patient.

Route 3: municipal curbside

Where your city collects mattresses on bulk days or by appointment, the truck is theirs and your job is the carry to the curb plus the wrapping rules. Works for houses on the program; apartments often are not covered.

Route 4: the roof rack fantasy

A mattress strapped to a sedan roof is a traffic citation, a windshield hazard for everyone behind you, and in most states an unsecured load violation. It also ruins the mattress for donation. Retire this plan.

Route 5: the rental math

A pickup truck rental means the rate, the mileage, the fuel, the deposit, the landfill gate fee, and a second person, easily matching or exceeding the $85 a professional pickup starts at, plus your Saturday. Rental math works for a whole apartment move; for one mattress it never pencils.

No truck is not a problem to solve, it is a decision already made. Book the window and let the truck come to you.
