Do I need to disconnect the appliance first?
Yes. Have appliances disconnected before the pickup window. For gas appliances, use a licensed professional to cap the line, and empty and defrost refrigerators and freezers a day ahead.
What happens to the refrigerant in a fridge or AC unit?
Refrigerant is recovered by certified facilities as required by federal rules before the metal is recycled. Your Loader routes cooling appliances to handlers equipped for exactly that.
Can a working appliance be donated?
Often, yes. Working washers, dryers, and refrigerators are offered to reuse partners first, and the price does not change based on the outcome.
Do you take stacked or built in units?
Stacked washer and dryer sets are fine. Built in units need to be uninstalled before pickup, since Loaders remove appliances but do not alter cabinetry or plumbing.
